On Monday and Tuesday, December 8 and 9, four members of Ferradermis joined up with four members of the Red Raider FIRST Robotics Team from Sheboygan North High School to represent FIRST Wisconsin at the SLATE Educational Technology Conference in Wisconsin Dells. The team of students talked with hundreds of educators from across the state about what participating in the robotics program has done for them and why other schools should start teams. On Tuesday afternoon, the group offered a workshop, “More than Robots: Using Graphic Design, 3D Printing, and Project Management Tools in the World of FIRST Robotics.” During the workshop, the students shared how FIRST provides the opportunity for authentic learning and skill development for communication, marketing, data analysis, and project management.
