Kids enjoying applesauce

To conclude our science unit on weather and seasons and integrated into our literacy study of the letter Aa, kindergarteners at Lincoln made apple sauce. Many students brought in a single apple that was peeled, cored, and sliced to be added to our applesauce. It cooked during the day and we enjoyed a special treat in the afternoon. Students loved the apple peel "slinky" that the apple-peeler-corer-slicer made. Many enjoyed trying warm, home-made applesauce for their first time and all students were excited to participate in the group activity. It is fun being in kindergarten!
